The Breakdown exists to serve and grow the audience of women’s rugby, bringing them closer to the action with more coverage, news, stories and moments.

We’re an independent publication covering the international game and the world’s leading domestic leagues. At launch, our focus is the PWR and England, with more to follow as we grow.

A community-led initiative

The Breakdown is a community-led initiative, built by people who love women’s rugby and want to see it get the coverage it deserves.

Giving something back

The top of the women’s game is built on the players coming through below it. That’s why a share of everything The Breakdown earns goes back into grassroots rugby, supporting players on their way up through kit, grants and sponsorship. It’s reinvestment, not charity: revenue from covering the top of the game goes back into the players building towards it.
